BILTWEL GC was the prime general contractor on an entire face lift of the existing toll plaza which for decades has been a popular landmark for Long Islanders' familiar with the North Shore of Suffolk County.  The scope of work included demolishing the entire toll plaza while protecting and reconstructing the original control building.  The existing control building structure was expanded to 22' height and new masonry brick walls with pilaster features, complete with new water closet, safe room, break room and sliding glass window for ticket counter sales. .  The new toll plaza booths were also constructed of bricks, with sophisticated details featuring a radius curved bull-nose brick which wraps around the entire booth.
